  5. Hi, I´m new in V-ray and I downloaded some textures but…for what is normal map? I know for what is and where use displacement and diffuse map but realy don´t know what with normal map.

Yea and many thx for models, love this side :)

    • Hi Pavel, You can use normal maps as well as bump maps. They work fine both. In my Bibendum chair (see tutorial) I used only diffuse and normal maps.

      Have a nice day!

Unfortunately my models has patent registration, and I can’t share them.
But I hope to develop some things outside of work and then share.
and also even I feel not prepared to compare my models with the current models in this website. hehehe

    but, I’ll try my best!

  7. Hi, I am new to Vray but not to 3D CAD software and was excited to see you had created such a site offering all one could want!
However each time I try to import one of your textures i recieve the message “Invalid ASGvis material file”.
Am I doing something wrong? I would really like to use some of the fantastic materials you have developed.

    Kind Regards,

    • same problem for me too….. did it get resolved for u?

      • Hi! It’s caused by a different version of V-Ray. Unfortunately, I cannot do anything to fix this… You have to use the latest V-Ray release to use these materials.

  24. How can I set materials to avoid stretching over large objects? Its on several walls ranging from about 10′x10′ to about 30′x75′. setting to ‘planar world xyz’ helps but it is still awkwardly stretched. any suggestions?
    Thanks

    • Hi! Try to use some kind of mapping options… For example I would use Box Mapping for walls (until they are rectangular and not organic)

      Good Luck

  47. Hi,

I’m actually been looking around for a white polycarbonate material but to no avail, anyone could help or if theres any settings to tweak a normal material into it?
    thanks!

  48. It would be great if you can have a thumbnail of the renders shown above in the material package too, as it would be very helpful to quickly choose materials. Or maybe something like a pdf showing all with their numbers probably. But great work. Thanks a lot. :)
