Hey V-ray users! In this section you can find some very very basic and quick interior settings for V-ray (for Rhino).
You can download zipped *.visopt settings by clicking on the image.
Scenes generally contain a Sun with multiplier set to 0.1.
Scene in 3dm is not included! Downloadable are only settings in .visopt format. Thanks for understanding.
How to import them into your V-ray? Check this out:

Please keep in mind that reaching good render needs also good materials, composition and 3D models, not only good settings!
there is no sun used in the last scene above.
there is no sun used in the last scene above.

Another question, i downloaded the setting for an interior with sunlight, but how do i put the background bitmap and have the sun at the same time?
and also what is the fastes setting of the ones above?
thanks for your time!!
I have no idea which one of these is really fastest :) I didn’t test them side by side.
About the sun – You have to position it manually, there is not any “automatic sun positioning system in according to visopt settings.”
Bgr bitmaps were added to the image in Photoshop.
This website has been so helpfull!! i have another question, is there a way i can make the sun pass thru the ceeling? a way for the material to allow the pass of the sunlight
best website ever!
Try 2sided material, it should help You ;)
Are this visopt settings for rhino v4.0?

if possible pls share the link where it can be downloaded for free……
Hi,
Your website has been extremely helpful both for models and textures.
I use Cinema 4D with Vray and utilise Moi3D to convert the 3DM files into a nice OBJ version for import. As I am unable to interpret the visopt files for VRay settings, is it possible to export these as some other format so they can be read – even a txt or XL file.
Many Thanks
pfx
I have never seen this before – can You point me at some tutorial on how to export visopt files to txt? I don’t think V-Ray is capable to do so…
Hi Matus,
I had not come across the visopt settings reference until I read about them in your first post above. I assumed it to be a way you can share settings between Rhino VRay projects. Was hoping there may be a way of converting it to a generic format so it could be used in C4D VRay. Have just Googled visopt and can only find references to it in relation to Rhino and Sketchup versions of VRay. Tried placing it with other C4D Vray settings and it was not recognised, so looks like it may not be possible to convert the settings. Thanks for your reply.
Regards
pfx
Great Collectiom. Thanks

Hi Matus! these visopt settings need extra lights?
regards.
Sure, You always need to put some artificial lights into the scene :)
Matus,
What kind of extra lights do you recommend?
Sunlight system and optionally some Planar lights.
thanks!
Hi Matúš,
thanks for your small selection. Is it possible for you to upload some visopt settings from your actual work, specially from exterior-views? Would help me alot!
Thank you very much!
Hi Ben, right now I am working on a new project for FlyingArchitecture – it will include the whole scene, 3D models, materials, settings and postproduction PSD file as well…
It’ll be out in a few weeks… (hope so :) )

These are created in Rhino, not in SketchUp.
Hello everyone, I just want to ask you about the background in “V-Ray for Rhino” How can we do it?
It’s easy to change the color, but I don’t know how I can use a bitmap.
how can i get a copy for visopt files? im using sketch up and starting to learn render using vray. thanks a lot in advance
These visopt files were created in V-Ray under Rhino, not in Sketchup.
Hello, I need a help. I want to ask you about the background. How can you do it?
Is it Photoshop??
Thnx :)
Yes, it is made in Photoshop… all the time.
Thank you very mut

Hey !
When i “load” the visopt, a window tells me ” Failed to load options from file”
what does it mean, do i something wrong ?
is it a problem of sketchup or vray version ?
thank you !
Hi Padam, All our materials, models and scene setting were made in V-Ray for Rhino, so yes, this might be a problem :)
Have a nice day.
Matus
Hi!
I’m using Rhino 4.0 and V-ray and I get the ” Failed to load options from file” message too. :/ Any suggestions?
Thanks
Paula
Yes.
You are using outdated Vray version. You should upgrade V-Ray in order to use these visopts and many models on this site.
hi dear admin
can we use them for vray sketchup?
is this used for sketchup?
how can i improve my rendering setting…im newbie.
Hey matus,

HI,
Thanks for the visopt postings. A question: I used your setting #7 to render a an interior space. The render time took about 4 hours for a 6 by 8 size of output and 10 hours for 12 by 8 output. I think I have the same machine as yours with the same specifications. How can I speed up the render time especially If I want to have a larger output without compromising the outcome, well maybe a little bit will be fine. can you point out a specific parameters that controls the render time and the quality?
Thanks for for your help and again for your amazing render set-ups. ;)
Hi Eliad,
You can lower the Irradiance mapalong with making the final output larger.
There are also many more options to influence quality/time, but I’d say these should be most helpful for You.
Hi Matus, nice block.
I downloaded your “Rar.” Material, but when I opened it, it was a vismat file, not a visopt file, like you described.
Did I something wrong?
Hi Fabray,
I checked them out and when I opened ZIP file, I saw there are visopt files… Please try to re-download it again and check once again :)
Hola, buen dia!
Tengo un problema cuando cargo o modifico un .visopt. Me modifica todos los números predeterminados.
Ejemplo
Transp.Cutoff. es 0.1 y me lo pasa a 0,001000
El render me tarda mucho tiempo y me sale mal. Uds saben que puede ser?
Muchas Gracias!
hi
this for skitchup Not 3dMax….
