V-Ray visopt settings

Hey V-ray users! In this section you can find some very very basic and quick  interior settings for V-ray (for Rhino).

You can download zipped *.visopt settings by clicking on the image.

Scenes generally contain a Sun with multiplier set to 0.1.

Scene in 3dm is not included! Downloadable are only settings in .visopt format. Thanks for understanding.

How to import them into your V-ray? Check this out:

settings

Please keep in mind that reaching good render needs also good materials, composition and 3D models, not only good settings!

there is no sun used in the last scene above.

Another question, i downloaded the setting for an interior with sunlight, but how do i put the background bitmap and have the sun at the same time?

and also what is the fastes setting of the ones above?

    thanks for your time!!

    • I have no idea which one of these is really fastest :) I didn’t test them side by side.

About the sun – You have to position it manually, there is not any “automatic sun positioning system in according to visopt settings.”

Bgr bitmaps were added to the image in Photoshop.

  5. Hi,
Your website has been extremely helpful both for models and textures.
I use Cinema 4D with Vray and utilise Moi3D to convert the 3DM files into a nice OBJ version for import. As I am unable to interpret the visopt files for VRay settings, is it possible to export these as some other format so they can be read – even a txt or XL file.
    Many Thanks
    pfx

    • I have never seen this before – can You point me at some tutorial on how to export visopt files to txt? I don’t think V-Ray is capable to do so…

      • Hi Matus,
I had not come across the visopt settings reference until I read about them in your first post above. I assumed it to be a way you can share settings between Rhino VRay projects. Was hoping there may be a way of converting it to a generic format so it could be used in C4D VRay. Have just Googled visopt and can only find references to it in relation to Rhino and Sketchup versions of VRay. Tried placing it with other C4D Vray settings and it was not recognised, so looks like it may not be possible to convert the settings. Thanks for your reply.
        Regards
