These materials were created in V-Ray for Rhinoceros 1.5 and in according to some of You, it is easy to import them to V-Ray for SketchUp, however I do not have any information how to import these materials to V-Ray for 3DsMax. Most probably You can only get textures and re-create materials in V-Ray for 3DsMax.

These .vismats are so useful. Thanks. Is there a way to stop rhino from stretching the material based on the surface dimensions? If i have a shoebox for example, the material across the short side will stretch differently than the long side. thanks.
You should use different types of mapping. for example Box Mapping. You can find Mapping options in Preferences

Hi! they cannot be imported straight into Your 3ds max V-Ray, but You can use the jpg textures and set Your materials on Your own.

Hello! It should be in V-Ray version. V-Ray 1.0 is pretty old version :) Try to download newer one, or if You want to win a licence, join our contest at rhinoarea.com :)

You mean the texture quality or render quality?

Check the mapping of the wall, make the texture smaller ;)

Please help me. with the way that you have named jpg materials. i understand that
Diffuse = Diffuse
Disp = Dispacement
normal = ???
but what does normal mean and where do I apply that jpg to in the material editor?

Hi, i’m new to using vray in rhino 3d.
Is there any way, say, for us to change the colour of the concrete texture? Like from the one youve got here ,change to darker shade etc..?
if so under which layer should it be? It seems like i tried changing the colour option in diffuse it seems locked!
I recommend to change it in Photoshop and then reload it in Vray. Making it darker/lighter is easy in Vray, just use Gamma value for the texture itself.

You’ll need a special converting tool, try to search the web. I believe there’s some.

Materials are created for V-Ray for Rhino and are delivered in .vismat extension. V-ray for 3DS Max is not able to open these.

Hi. I added texture, aplied it on a wall and i have a problem.
I cannot change texture tiling in my render. I try to change it texture mapping as i always do. It changes on screen, but doesnt id render. ( it is far too big ). I try to modify tiling in basic -> texture -> tiling -> modify and it does nothing ( as it always did, but i tried…)
What i need to do?
the Diffuse color -> bitmap is automatically added. I see it on a preview.
Maps -> bump is added to. i see it on a preview.
Maps -> displacement isnt added but i added the last of 3 bitmaps there. it doesnt do the trick.
I thought i can do the tiling but now i see i cannot. : [
Ok maybe nvm because i deleted the wall, redefined it and now i can change tiling. still on render its different than on screen and im not following all this options but my problem is pretty solved…
Check if the texture has tiling of 1 in both U and V directions and also the angle of rotation.
These settings could be found in the Diffuse layer settings (in the bottom.)
